online shopping for latest exclusive designer tussar silk salwar kameez collection by unnatisilks

Tussar Silk, also known as ‘Kosa’ Silk , is made from silk obtained from several species of caterpillars, of the moth genus Antheraea. Known as ‘wild silk’, this name is given because the silkworms breed on trees like Sal and Arjun found in the forests of Jharkhand. The raw silk has a deep golden colour and is of good texture.

Tussar Silk staples are shorter and less expensive in comparison to that of cultivated silk because of the resulting quality of the produce from these silkworms in comparison to that from cultivated types.
Tussar Silk is mainly found in India, in the states of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, and Bhagalpur in Bihar, which is also famous as a commercial centre for the production of Tussar Silk fabrics. Eastern parts of India like Orissa and West Bengal and a small portion of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh also contribute to Tussar Silk production in India.

Tribals in Jharkhand, and weavers of Bhagalpur, are skilled weavers of hand-woven Tussar Silks. Hand spun and coloured with vegetable dyes, the Tussar slawr kameez and saris they produce are eco-friendly.

The woven Tussar Silk salwar kameez has a coarse texture, is light on the body, airy and has a comfortable feel about it. Hand-woven Tussar Silk suits are well known for their texture, zari borders and motifs and the hand crafted designs that enrich them. The use of leftover silk from woven fabrics, are also used to create designs on the main fabric and is a by-product of the need for variation in the weaves.

online shopping for latest handloom bengal cotton tant sarees collection by unnatisilks

Bengal, India, is known for its handloom cotton sarees. Fine texture weaves, transparent, airy and very comfortable, the Bengal handloom cotton sari is ideal for hot climes and sultry weather. Comfortable, colourful and classy, the pure cotton sarees are known for their attractive borders, hand woven bootis with fancy motifs, exquisite embroidery and exotic hand painting of tribal art.

The Bengal Jamdhani handloom cotton sarees are known as soft and comfortable wear with eye-catching geometrical and floral patterns, having motifs hand woven in golden zari thread. This hand woven technique of Jamdhani, a prominent feature on Bengal handloom sarees has universal application today by inclusion even in the traditional handloom varieties across India such as Banarasi sarees, Venkatagiri cotton sarees, Uppada cotton sarees, Kanchi cotton sarees, Darmavaram cotton sarees etc.

Based on the variations in the Jamdani weave, sarees can be termed as Daccai Jamdani, known for its colourful motifs, the Shantipur Jamdhani for its soft texture, the Fulia Tangail Jamdani for its traditional borders and the Dhonekai Jamdhani for its colourful hues. Another variety of cotton handlooms in Bengal is the Kantha sari, known mainly for its running stitch embroidery on cotton fabrics where other forms of stitches are also used sometimes. The cotton and gold thread work sets off a wonderful design that enhances the look of the fabric. Murshidabad, Hoogly Nadia and Burdwan situated in Bengal State are famous centres for Tant weaves. Likewise Dhaka and Tangail in Bangla Desh are also known for their Tant cotton sarees.

Motifs of flowers, the sun, and modern art depictions generally adorn the Tant Saree. The borders of the fabric are thicker than normal since they are prone to tearing. There are special Tant sarees like the 6 metre long white cotton fabric instead of the conventional 5.5 metre saree, it has a wide border between 1.5 and 2.0 inches in colours of green, blue, grey and black. The Saree has a mean count of 100 (No. of threads per square inch of warp and weft). Additions of hand painting and appliqué work enhance the price of the saree slightly.Tant Sarees are available as Pure handloom cotton sarees using Meghalaya cotton sarees, Bengal cotton sarees, Assam cotton sarees, Nagaland cotton sarees etc.

While Unnati displays the entire range of Bengal handloom cotton sarees are the recent Tant magic has captured the imagination of the market. The plain body saree or the one with dots and motifs, with zari work on the borders and pallu is a widely popular version. An elegant affair it lends use for a variety of occasions from casual get-togethers to formal functions. It is a preferred choice for corporate executives and also serves for casual outings and invites. Tants cover a wide range from dark to subdued to light breezy hues. online shopping for latest multicolor leheriya prints sarees collection by unnatisilks

Leheria or Leheriya is a traditional Tie and Dye art practised in Rajasthan, India. It is part of the larger traditional art known as Bandhani and hence you can also find Leheria Bandhej being used. Leheria comes from the word Leher meaning wave, since the tie and dye process applied to white fabrics, results in brightly coloured complex wave or Leher designs. Leheria work is done on silk or cotton fabric and on long and broad canvases like turbans and sarees.

The process involves rolling the fabric and tying resists at various spots on the cloth rolled diagonally from one corner to the opposite selvage. Selvage is the self finished edges in a fabric as a result of looping back the thread from the weft (perpendicular thread to the waft threads) at the end of each row length of the fabric that prevents the fabric from unravelling or fraying. This rolled fabric is then dyed according to the usual tie and dye process in bright colours.
When the fabric is unfolded after dyeing, it leaves a lot of stripes or other shapes at intervals across the fabric in a design. Several tie and dye processes are undergone if required, to create a myriad of colourful stripes across the fabric length. Indigo is used in the last few stages of the process.
The appeal lies in the way the folding and tying of resists is manipulated before dyeing to create colourful striking outcomes of extraordinary designs.

Mothara is a special ‘lentil design’, popular and achieved by the re-rolling of the unfolded first stage in the opposite direction and the resist tied at the diagonal end and repeating the dye process. The resulting checkered design has un-dyed areas at regular intervals which are the size of a lentil. Leheria turbans are very popular in Rajasthan and some other parts of India. Leheria Sarees and salwar kameez have wooed the fashion world with their unique designer prints.

The variety of Leheria Prints sarees at Unnati Silks is interesting. You have half half sarees where one half would have zari mango bootis and the other half would be covered by some pattern in Tie & Dye. The complementary designer pallu would have a portion plain and the other part having Bandhini designs. Georgette half half sarees with the Leheria Prints on both but with different patterns and that to on contrast colours. The alternating patterns all across the length is a mesmerizing sight. A third variety has plain art saree with a single motif distributed sparsely but the Pallu having the Leheria pattern in a nice colourful spread.

online shopping for awesome designer chiffon shibori sarees collection by unnatisilks

The Chiffon Saree, a finely-made airy fabric, light in weight and great for style, is preferred as summer wear in tropical countries like India.

Chiffon is a fabric known for its sheer quality, manufactured so fine, that it is transparent, airy and light on the wearer. From the French meaning ’cloth’, it is made from finely drawn out cotton, silk or synthetic fibres, spun in the balanced plain weave style. The fineness of the Chiffon Saree comes from the close placing of a number of fibres per inch in the warp (length wise laid out fibres) and weft (breadth wise arrangement of fibres on the warp). The weaving that then takes place in a close pattern, achieves a net that hardly allows anything to pass through.

Chiffon Sarees with their extremely fine mesh-like weaving and decorated with beautiful designs and patterns are available in most colours and shades. The greatest advantage of the Chiffon Saree lies in the saree not wrinkling and retaining its neat shape throughout the day. Added to it is the fact that apart from seeing that it being delicate it does not fray, it requires very little care to maintain.

Preferred for the comfort and ‘breathing’ quality of the fabric that keeps the body cool and refreshed, not to mention the style statement that it makes, online designer Chiffon Sarees are a boon, for the working woman.

Designer prints, modern floral patterns and embroidery are adopted to adorn the sari and are much preferred wear for office-goers, teachers, college professors and even corporate ladies.
Unnati silks with its pulse on market tastes, has a designer line of exceptionally attractive georgette Chiffon sarees. There are the eye-catching Rajasthani Bagru prints with exotic patterns to enhance the appeal of the Chiffon Saree. Long lines across the body of the saree in brilliant and varied colours, patterns and colours specific to certain festivals and social occasions are equally popular amongst the fashion conscious.

Other versions for the Chiffon Saree have block prints with opposite coloured pallus and patch border on both sides of the saree, sought out mainly for weddings and grand occasions, while the pure fancy Chiffon Saree with Zari Buttis and elegant Pallu is normally chosen for big functions and parties.
