online designer crepe silk saris collection, unnatisilks party wear saris

There is a special appeal to the Crepe silk saree. Light in weight, soft in feel and a novel lustre in appearance, it appeals to the growing need of fashionable women in India. The Silk Crepe Saree is a thin, light and transparent fabric. Woven from hard spun silk yarn in its gummy natural condition, the initial woven fabric has a crispness about it that comes from the gum present in the yarn.

The distinguishing feature of the Silk Crepe fabric is its sparkle and lustre, apart from its soft feel, gauze-like appearance and texture. Artistic Zari Buttis, designer borders and stylish pallus, that adorn the Silk Crepe fabrics like the Saree make it most alluring. Based on the count crepe silks are distinguished as silk crepe, synthetic crepe, satin crepe and micro crepe.

The making of the crepe silk saree requires quite a bit of skill. The threads in the weft (breadth-wise lay of threads) are woven through two separate feeds, which are reverse twisted and interwoven on the warp (length-wise lay of threads). Subsequently, on putting the raw fabric in boiling water, the gum mostly separates from the fabric and the threads loosen substantially in the weft weave, giving it that soft and wavy appearance.

There are certain endearing features of this fabric made from silk, wool or polyester of a gauzy texture. Having a good sheen and light and floating in nature, crepe has excellent draping quality.
There are very many fashionable designs and patterns of complex nature that comes out very clearly through the jacquard weave on it.

The fineness of the weave allows for beautiful digital prints that are extremely fashionable. The crepe fabric is adaptable to most colour dyes hence the range is fairly wide. A lot of metallic and thread embroidery is possible on this fabric of good texture that make the creations quite gorgeous.Maintenance of the fabric is very easy.

The use of crepe silk extends to a large variety of occasions. Designer prints on the Pure Silk Crepe Patola Saree with Zari work on the body of the fabric accompanied by multi-thread embroidered patch border and elegant matching pallu, give it a grand feel. No wonder it is much preferred wear for traditional functions, marriages, bridal attire, festivals and social gatherings.

Crepe Silks using Bagru prints and having antique copper jari border are eye-catchers, while the half and half Crepe Silk Sareee with printed Bootis and beautiful embroidery patch work on Pallus is currently in fashion. They find preference for college functions and corporate meets. The North Indian variety of Silk Crepe Fabrics has stylish block floral, Bagru and Bandhaniprints on the Saree body and is very refreshing, while the Southern version has fancy embroidery patterns with kundans, sequins and pearls on the Saree to make it very much appealing.

online designer chiffon printed sarees, unnatisilks party wear collection

The Chiffon Saree, a finely-made airy fabric, light in weight and great for style, is preferred as summer wear in tropical countries like India.
Chiffon is a fabric known for its sheer quality, manufactured so fine, that it is transparent, airy and light on the wearer. From the French meaning ’cloth’, it is made from finely drawn out cotton, silk or synthetic fibres, spun in the balanced plain weave style. The fineness of the Chiffon Saree comes from the close placing of a number of fibres per inch in the warp (length wise laid out fibres) and weft (breadth wise arrangement of fibres on the warp).

The weaving that then takes place in a close pattern, achieves a net that hardly allows anything to pass through. Chiffon Sarees with their extremely fine mesh-like weaving and decorated with beautiful designs and patterns are available in most colours and shades. The greatest advantage of the Chiffon Saree lies in the saree not wrinkling and retaining its neat shape throughout the day. Added to it is the fact that apart from seeing that it being delicate it does not fray, it requires very little care to maintain.

Preferred for the comfort and ‘breathing’ quality of the fabric that keeps the body cool and refreshed, not to mention the style statement that it makes, Chiffon Sarees are a boon, for the working woman.
Designer prints, modern floral patterns and embroidery are adopted to adorn the saree and are much preferred wear for office-goers, teachers, college professors and even corporate ladies.

Unnati silks with its pulse on market tastes, has a designer line of exceptionally attractive Chiffon sarees. There are the eye-catching Rajasthani Bagru prints with exotic patterns to enhance the appeal of the Chiffon Saree. Long lines across the body of the saree in brilliant and varied colours, patterns and colours specific to certain festivals and social occasions are equally popular amongst the fashion conscious. Other versions for the Chiffon Saree have block prints with opposite coloured pallus and patch border on both sides of the saree, sought out mainly for weddings and grand occasions, while the pure fancy Chiffon Saree with Zari Buttis and elegant Pallu is normally chosen for big functions and parties.

online hand crafted embroidery sarees ,unnatisilks trendy saris

Hand crafted embroidery is a fine and delicate art practiced in different traditional pockets of India. Embroidery or decorative needlework is usually done on sarees, often of a picture or pattern, to heighten the appeal. Handcrafted embroidery is an exclusive and treasured art since it is painstaking, time consuming, and a lot of care and dedication is put in by ethnic practitioners into the work, resulting in flawless creations of exquisite beauty.

Zardozi, Chikan,Kantha, Bagh, Kasuti, to name a few, are some of the more popular forms of handcrafted embroidery used to adorn sarees. Zardozi is metal embroidery done on fabrics using gold or silver colour coated copper wire along with a silk thread. Popular since Mughal times, zari thread is employed for zardozi. Real Zari has thread made from gold or silver. Imitation zari uses gold or silver coated copper wire.

Today mostly zari is made from metallic polyester film where a polyester core is covered by gold or silver coloured metallic yarn. Chikankari or chikan work is intricate embroidery on fabrics, an art form since the Mughal period, where the design or pattern print is put on fabrics in fine and detailed embroidery. Lucknavi chikankari is the most unique and famous of chikan work from among that of the several places in India where this art form is practised. Kantha Work, is essentially embroidery work done on sarees, with a running stitch on them in the form of motifs.

These motifs could be animals, birds, flowers, simple geometrical shapes and scenes from everyday life. It gives the saree a wrinkled and wavy look and transforms a plain saree into an extraordinary creation. Though the running stitch is mostly used for its ease, other forms of stitch such as darning stitch, satin stitch and loop stitch are also used.

Based on the use of the fabric, Kantha is divided into seven different types. Lep kantha and Sujani kantha are the popular types. Bagh is a special kind of embroidery practised by women in Punjab. Heavy and exquisite embroidery on sarees especially the lehenga type, where the base fabric is hardly visible, it is mostly done for special sarees for occasions like festivals and weddings. Kasuti is a traditional form of embroidery practiced in Karnataka, India.

Kasuti work is very intricate and sometimes involves putting a large number of stitches by hand on traditional silk sarees like Ilkal and Kanjeevaram. Kasuti work involves embroidering intricate patterns like chariot, lamps and conch shells on the fabrics. Locally available materials are used for Kasuti.

Bandhani or Bandhini or Bandhej, a highly-skilled process involving Tie-Dye method, has the base fabric tied at several points by threads and then the threads are dyed. The manner in which the tying is done decides the resulting pattern, which could be Leheriya, Mothra, Ekdali or Shikari. Patterns which emerge are generally dots, stripes, waves or squares.

Dark Colours are employed for dyeing the ‘Bandhani’ and could be organic or man-made chemicals. Principally applied colours being red, green, blue, black or yellow, the background is generally red or black.

The Khatri community of Kutch in Gujarat is known to excel in Bandhani. Saurashtra in Gujarat, and Rajasthan again have their own style of Bandhani, unique to their regions. Designs and colours differ, with significance attached to certain colours.

There is a special attraction to the Leheria Bandhej shalwar suits in the Bandhini range known for their unique wave designs, evolving from a brilliant exercise of the tie and dye art that has created waves in the fashion world for the simplicity and appealing look on plain coloured fabrics. Leheria work is done on silk or cotton fabrics and on long and broad canvases.

The process of getting the unique Leheria or wave design involves rolling the fabric and tying resists at various spots on the cloth and then rolled diagonally from one corner to the opposite selvage. This rolled fabric is then dyed according to the usual tie and dye process in bright colours.

When the fabric is unfolded after dyeing, it leaves a lot of stripes or other shapes at intervals across the fabric in a design. Several tie and dye processes are undergone if required, to create a myriad of colourful stripes across the fabric length. Indigo is used in the last few stages of the process. Mothara is a special ‘lentil design’, popular and achieved by the re-rolling of the unfolded first stage in the opposite direction and the resist tied at the diagonal end and repeating the dye process. The resulting checkered design has un-dyed areas at regular intervals which are the size of a lentil.
